Program Description: The doctoral internship at UVU prepares the intern for competent and ethical practice as a generalist psychologist. A variety of training opportunities are provided with an emphasis in individual, couples, and group therapy, psychological assessment, and crisis intervention. Tailoring the internship to meet the goals and needs of interns is a priority and opportunities to meet these needs can include teaching, research, specific modality training, outreach, community resource consultation, and didactic trainings. Interviews include: Applicants will be informed by email regarding their interview status. Phone interviews are conducted by the selection committee and occur mid-January.
Requirements for application: Pass comprehensive exams by application deadline, dissertation proposal approved by start of internship
Minimum number of AAPI Intervention Hours: 450
Minimum number of years of grad training required: 3
Additional Information: Prefers students from Clinical and Counseling Psychology programs. Prefers students from APA or CPA-Accredited programs, but students from non-APA or CPA accredited programs acceptable. Prefers students with Ph.D. and Psy.D. degrees, but applicants with Ed.D. degree acceptable.
